About
Emily Shaw is a professional rock drummer based in Melbourne, Australia.
She has extensive experience as a live touring musician with her own band UK/AUS rock act Slow Chase (Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Geelong, Bendigo, Warrnambool), as well as with Stonefield (Big Day Out, metro and regional headline tours), Six the Musical (Melbourne Comedy Theatre, Theatre Royal Sydney), the Women of Soul Collective (Bluesfest), Spicks and Specks (ABC TV), and various local acts including Lake Minnetonka, Jonnie Goes To Church, and Elvis Big Band.
As a recording artist, Emily has logged hundreds of hours in the studio – most notably tracking with ARIA Award-winning engineer Jonathan Burnside (Nirvana, Faith No More, Clutch, Grinspoon, The Living End, The Grates, The Sleepy Jackson, Dan Sultan) on Slow Chase recordings.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Australian Popular Music from NMIT, is a qualified classroom teacher, and has been teaching drum lessons in Melbourne schools, music stores, and privately for over a decade.
